Kevin Love On Miami Heat's Scoring Woes: 'Something Just Needs To Break The Seal'
The lineup suggests the Miami Heat have one of the best offenses in the NBA.
They have four 20-point scorers, a luxury by league standards. But for some reason, the Heat have continued to struggle offensively despite the addition of guard Terry Rozier last month.
"It's tough to say," forward Kevin Love said of the struggles. "We've certainly had big moments when our entire team has been ignitable and we've been able to put up monster points and monster performances on the offensive end. That's something we're searching for right now."
The Heat have the league's 27th-best scoring offense (110.1 ppg) despite a roster featuring Tyler Herro, Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Rozier. The only teams with worse offensive output are the Portland Trail Blazers, Charlotte Hornets and Memphis Grizzlies, who are all 13th or worse in the conference standings.
The Heat have yet to pinpoint the reason for the issues. They had problems before Rozier arrived, so he isn't to blame.
"I can't really put a finger on why that is happening because we do have that capability," Love said. "If you look at our lineup, you would think that we should be scoring in the 110s, the 120s, maybe even the 130s on certain nights ... I think that we're searching to try to find it. It's not for the lack of intent or trying to make the play. Something just needs to break the seal."
