Miami Heat Fans React To Damian Lillard's Milwaukee Bucks Debut
Damian Lillard shined in his first game with the Milwaukee Bucks with 39 points, eight rebounds and four assists against the Philadelphia 76ers. His clutch shots down the stretch ultimately gave Milwaukee the victory, illustrating his winning nature across the course of his career.
It shouldn't come as a surprise, but it's still a sore sight for Miami Heat fans that hoped to see Lillard doing the same thing for their team instead.
The Heat's narrow win over the Detroit Pistons only re-enforced these concerns, emphasizing Miami fans' desire to acquire another superstar to help Jimmy Butler with scoring and playmaking.
Heat fans will seemingly never forgive their organization for failing to land Lillard, whose name is amongst a long list of superstars Miami fell short of acquiring.
This is only the beginning for Lillard's chapter in Milwaukee, but this is the standard everyone anticipated he would play at.
"I'm not gonna come in here and say, ‘This is what needs to happen,’” Lillard said. “They're a championship team. Two-time MVP, another top-75 player all time. I came in with the mentality that I got to learn; I got to learn this team and figure out how I fit into this team.”
Meanwhile, the Heat play the Boston Celtics (1-0) tonight.
