The Utah Jazz are looking to avoid their third straight loss on Monday night as they travel to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder. While the Jazz have maintained a 7-15 record through the first quarter of their season, the Thunder have managed to start hot with a 14-7 record; good enough for 2nd in the Western Conference.

However, Monday night’s contest will be another shorthanded one for Utah. Both teams released their injury report, revealing a couple of key inactives and a questionable entry for the Jazz:

Utah Jazz Injury Report:

Lauri Markkanen- OUT (hamstring)

Walker Kessler- OUT (foot)

John Collins- QUESTIONABLE (illness)

Oklahoma City Thunder Injury Report:

Lu Dort- QUESTIONABLE (ankle)

The Jazz will be without their All-Star forward Lauri Markkanen once again while he continues to nurse a hamstring strain. This will be his eighth-straight absence from the lineup, but a return remains imminent, considering his recent return to practice.

As for Walker Kessler, he’s suffering from foot soreness that will keep him out of this contest, which will be his eighth miss of the season. John Collins has yet to miss a game so far this year, but his illness has effectively put his chances to go in this game into question.

The Thunder remain mostly healthy, but Lu Dort is dealing with an ankle sprain that lists him as questionable. Oklahoma City would benefit greatly from having his two-way impact on the floor in this one. He’s averaging 10.3 points and 4.1 rebounds on 37.9% shooting from deep through 21 games this year.

For Utah to find success without some of their most impactful players, it’ll likely take a strong effort from guys like Jordan Clarkson and Keyonte George on the offensive end to recover the losses. Seeing how Will Hardy handles the frontcourt rotation without potentially three of his regular starters may also be a key storyline heading into this matchup.

The Jazz will tip off against the Thunder in the Paycom Center at 6 PM MT on Monday night.
