Mike Conley's Big Weekend
Mike Conley had a weekend to remember as he reached new career milestones, and broke into new career industries over the past two days.
According to the Utah Jazz Press Release, Conley broke the 5,000 career assist mark against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night. A pass to Joe Ingles who nailed a three pointer in the first quarter was the mile-marker for Conley. He had 4,509 assists in twelve seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies, and he currently has 494 assists in two seasons with the Jazz.
In the same press release from the Utah Jazz, Mike Conley said, “I’m able to just kind of dissect the game,” Conley continued. “That’s a credit to our team and the coaching staff and the system. I’m just trying to play within the game.”
Conley's successes didn't stop there.
On Sunday night, it was announced that Mike Conley and Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant won an Oscar for "Two Distant Strangers". The two NBA stars were executive producers for the short film that secured them their first Oscar.
According to Netflix, Two Distant Strangers is about a man trying to get home to his dog, when he gets stuck in a time loop which makes him relive a deadly encounter with a police officer.
