Live Updates

  • Chis Paul had seven points in the first five minutes of the game. He was able to get in the lane at will and convert on a few of his signature midrange jump shots.
  • The Suns led 13-2 at the first media timeout. The Suns made the Jazz noticeable uncomfortable on offense. The Jazz started 1/1 from the field before missing their next seven attempts and falling to 1/8. That was part of of a 13-0 Suns run.
  • Jazz with a 6-0 run after the timeout to cut the lead to 13-8.
  • Derrick Favors struggled mightily in his first minutes of the game. He had a bad miss on a jump shot, committed two turnovers, struggled to rebound, and got beat on defense.
  • The Jazz shot 2/10 from three in the first 10 minutes.
  • After falling behind 13-2, the Jazz stormed back to take a 21-20 lead after the first quarter. Sequences like this one from Royce O'Neale and Bogdanovic sparked the comeback:
  • The Jazz, like they were against the Dallas Mavericks on  Monday, were ice cold from three. The Jazz shot 3/20 from three in the first 18 minutes.
  • The Jazz simply couldn't get anything going offensively. They had 32 points with two minutes remaining in the first half. The Suns jumped out to another lead - 43-32 in favor of the Suns.
  • The Jazz, in response to their cold shooting in the first half, attacked the rim to start the third quarter. It paid early dividends cutting the Suns lead down to three, but the Suns continue to go on small runs to maintain the lead. With three minutes left in the third quarter, the Suns lead by seven.
  • Out of the timeout, the Jazz go on a 6-0 run to cut the lead to one - 72-71 in favor of the Suns. Chris Paul has been the difference for the Suns, the Suns were +14 through the third quarter when Paul was on the floor.\
  • A floater from Mike Conley at the end of the third quarter gave the Jazz a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Jazz scored 38 points in the third quarter after scoring 40 points in the entire first half.
  • In the second half, the Jazz struggled to clean up the boards. Even after stops, the Suns had multiple second-chance opportunities that led to points.
  • Donovan Mitchell checked in without about 9:00 minutes remaining in the fourth and went a scoring run. He went on an 8-0 run by himself.
  • After extending the lead to five, the Jazz missed a few shots and the Suns took advantage in transition. The game is tied with 5:26 remaining.
  • The Jazz had no answer defensively for Chris Paul all night. He was able to get to his spot and convert from the midrange.
  • DeAndre Ayton killed the Jazz on the offensive boards late in the game. On one possession, he got three offensive rebounds until the Suns scored.
  • Down three with 15 seconds remaining, Donovan Mitchell pulled up from deep and hit a TOUGH three. Devin Booker missed the shot at the buzzer and the game went into overtime. I'm very surprised the Suns didn't give the ball to CP3 who was nearly unstoppable in the fourth quarter.
  • Second-chance points killed the Jazz in overtime. The Suns go on to win 117-113.
