Kings' Keegan Murray Injury Status Revealed for Suns Game

The sophomore forward left Sunday's game against the Bucks with a right hip injury.

Keegan Murray left Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks with right hip irritation and did not return as the Sacramento Kings lost 143-142 due to an overtime buzzer-beater from G Damian Lillard. Ahead of their game against the Phoenix Suns, the Kings have officially listed Murray as questionable.

Murray had a rough night before getting injured in Milwaukee, rounding up only 4 points, 1 rebound, and 1 block in 19 minutes. F Trey Lyles picked up Murray's minutes in the second half and will likely start if Murray is ruled out. Lyles had 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists in 33 minutes against the Bucks.

Murray has been a fundamental part of Sacramento's game plan this season, averaging 15.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. The Kings are looking to build around him in the future, stating that they are not interested in trades involving Murray and believing he has the potential to become a star. Murray has already broken multiple NBA records in just a season and a half.

The Kings take on the Suns in Phoenix on Tuesday, January 16 at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET
