Kings-Pelicans Injury Report: Zion Williamson Status in Question
The Sacramento Kings have the chance to keep to their winning ways on Sunday as they take on the New Orleans Pelicans in hopes of extending their win streak to three. However, Sacramento has already come up short in three games this season to this team, so taking care of business may be easier said than done.
Ahead of the game, both teams revealed their injury reports heading into the game, with each squad having some entries. Most notably, the playing status of Pelicans’ former first-overall pick Zion Williamson may be in doubt:
Sacramento Kings:
Trey Lyles- QUESTIONABLE (ankle)
New Orleans Pelicans:
Zion Williamson- QUESTIONABLE (leg)
Jose Alvarado- OUT (illness)
Matt Ryan- OUT (elbow)
The Kings’ streak of perfect health in 2024 finally ends with Trey Lyles listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup. He suffered an ankle injury during Sacramento’s last game against the Toronto Raptors, and it may ultimately lead to him sidelined for this contest.
As for the Pelicans, star forward Zion Williamson participated in Saturday’s team walkthrough but is listed as questionable before game time, according to Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune. Jose Alvarado and Matt Ryan won’t have a chance of suiting up, though, as both are listed as out.
The Kings and Pelicans will tip off at the Golden One Center at 3 PM PT for their final home stand, with a lengthy five-game road stretch awaiting them on the other side of this one.
