Kings Sign F Juan Toscano-Anderson in a Depth-Addressing Move
The Sacramento Kings have had some consistency issues and lingering questions around their wing issues. As a result, the Kings have signed F Juan Toscano-Anderson to a one-year deal, as first reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The 6-6 Mexican-American forward most recently played for the Capitanes de Ciudad de Mexico (Mexico City Capitanes) of the NBA G League in September 2023. The 30-year-old went undrafted in 2015 from Marquette. Eventually, he signed a deal with the Golden State Warriors, where he played for three seasons and won the 2022 NBA Championship, along with current Kings HC Mike Brown. He also made the finals of the 2022 NBA Slam Dunk Contest before falling short to Obi Toppin, who played for the New York Knicks at the time.
After his stint with the Warriors, he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers ahead of the 2022-23 season before he was traded to the Utah Jazz at the trade deadline. Now, he will return to the NBA in Sacramento, north of his hometown of Oakland.
Across JTA's four-year NBA career, he has averaged 4.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game in 16.1 minutes. The unexpected move will give depth to the Kings' forward rotation, in which the future of the position has been questioned as the Kings are linked to multiple trade rumors to give Sacramento the final piece of the puzzle ahead of the February 8 deadline.
