Lakers vs. Bulls Prediction for Wednesday, 12/20

We stated that LA has been going through a rough patch due to them losing three of their last four games. As for Chicago, they’re actually coming off an impressive road win over the Philadelphia 76ers. While they may have the momentum advantage, they’re still just 11-17 on the year and are without Zach LaVine.

So, rather than trusting either team to pull off a win right now, we’d prefer to target the total, or over/under, with our Lakers vs. Bulls prediction. We’ve seen the defensive side of the ball for both teams being where they shine, so we’re going to back a low-scoring game. After all, LA does have the third-best record for unders this season.

Similarly, the Bulls were able to pull off the upset over the 76ers by holding Joel Embiid and company to just 104 points. Therefore, it should come as no surprise to hear that both LA and Chicago rank in the top half of the league in terms of points allowed per game. On the flip side, they both rank in the bottom half in terms of points allowed per game.

Chicago is way down the list in that regard, as they score the fourth-fewest points per game. So, this is a solid spot for LA to bounce back, but we’re still sticking with our best Lakers vs. Bulls prediction of under 225.5 points (-110 at FanDuel Sportsbook).

Lakers vs. Bulls Player Prop Bets & Expert Picks Highlighting LeBron James & Nikola Vucevic

Given that we don’t want to sweat out a winner, if you’d like a different approach than the standard markets, that’s why we also have Lakers vs. Bulls player props for you. While LA hasn’t been racking up wins, LeBron has continued to be absolutely incredible.

It’s truly remarkable what he’s doing in his 21st season, leading the team in scoring and just messing around and getting a triple-double in their most recent game. That came against a New York Knicks team known for their defense, so we aren’t concerned with Chicago’s ability to completely shut him down either.

In his first game as a Laker against the Bulls, he scored 36 points and recorded 10 rebounds, and he had a double-double in four of his first five games against them with LA. With him taking over whenever needed, we’ll back another one tonight. So, tipping off our Lakers vs. Bulls player props is LeBron James to record a double-double (-180 at FanDuel Sportsbook).

Speaking of players that need to take over, Chicago’s Nikola Vucevic needs to do the same. LA knows that DeMar DeRozan needs to be shut down, and they can focus on that with LaVine out of the lineup. This looks to be the stretch of the season with Anthony Davis isn’t his All-Star self, which means the Bulls center may be primed for a solid game.

When these teams last met, he had 29 points and 12 rebounds, and he’s had a double-double in five of his last seven games against the Lakers. One of the two in which he didn’t was also a game in which he played just 15 minutes. Along with him having one in six of eight games this month, we’re targeting Nikola Vucevic to record a double-double (-230 at FanDuel Sportsbook) to close out our Lakers vs. Bulls player props.

Lakers vs. Bulls Injury Report and Projected Lineup Ahead of Today's Game

Lastly, let’s take a look at tonight’s projected lineups for both sides and any notable players dealing with injuries:

LA Lakers:

  • D’Angelo Russell

CHI Bulls:

As mentioned in our Lakers vs. Bulls prediction breakdown, Chicago’s biggest issue is the absence of Zach LaVine, and of course, Lonzo Ball and Torrey Craig remain out. As for LA, Gabe Vincent remains out, as does Jalen Hood-Schifino.

The absence of key players and the defensive sides for both teams being the superior unit, we’re confident in our Lakers vs. Bulls prediction. Remember, you can back our pick while getting any team’s pre-game money line at 30/1 odds when you become a new member at FanDuel today.
