Lakers Injury News: Key Forward Out Thursday Against Suns, Another Rotation Piece Probable

The Lakers are already getting hit with some early season injuries.

The Los Angeles Lakers have opened their season 0-1 with a loss to the Denver Nuggets, and now welcome the1-0 Phoenix Suns into the Crypto.com Arena for their home opener.

The initial injury report is out for Thursday's game, and the Lakers are still dealing with an injury to a key contributor to last year's WCF run.

Jarred Vanderbilt — who missed Tuesday's season opener — remains out with his left heel injury. Additionally, rookie Jalen Hood-Schifino is out — but we know he won't play for a little while as he's set to get re-evaluated on November 3.

One new player popped up on the injury report, however, as forward Cam Reddish is listed as probable to play with right foot soreness.

Reddish played 18 minutes in Tuesday's loss, scoring seven points and bringing down four rebounds with one block. He's one of the many new faces acclimating to LA, and Darvin Ham will continue to tinker with rotations for the first few weeks of the year, especially once Vanderbilt is able to return.

The Lakers will be without one of their best defenders against Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and the Suns, while Phoenix is still waiting to see if superstar Bradley Beal is able to play. Beal missed their season opener on Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors, but as we know, everyone seems to get healthy when they play the Lakers.
