Despite being down three games to one coming into Game 5, the Memphis Grizzlies managed a convincing victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday, winning 116-99 to close the series gap to 3-2.

The Grizzlies were able to hold off the Lakers largely as a result of impressive play from Desmond Bane (33 points, 10 rebounds, five assists) and Ja Morant (31 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists), though Jaren Jackson Jr. also notched a double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds) in the victory.

The Lakers will look to send the Grizzlies home in Game 6 on Saturday, with tip-off scheduled for 10:30 PM ET. Below, we’ll provide our top Grizzlies vs. Lakers predictions and explain how to qualify for DraftKings’ current new-user promotion by clicking on this link to create an account.

Grizzlies Injury Report Along With the Lakers

According to the latest information, Grizzlies shooting guard Luke Kennard – who left Game 5 with an apparent shoulder injury – remains questionable for Friday’s matchup. Small forward Jake LaRavia is also questionable for Friday’s action with a calf injury. This is in addition to center Steven Adams and power forward Brandon Clarke, who are both out for the season with lower-body injuries.

For the Lakers, there are no injuries currently listed on the report. Los Angeles should be at full strength against the Grizzlies in Game 6.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Los Angeles Lakers Game 6 Predictions

Coming into Game 5, the Los Angeles Lakers were considered heavy favorites to win the series and advance to the next round of the NBA Playoffs. While the Lakers are still the favorite to advance, the Grizzlies did a good job of shortening their odds with an impressive 116-99 victory to move the series to 3-2.

The top play from our Grizzlies vs. Lakers predictions for Game 6 is for the Grizzlies to continue to make it interesting and win Game 6 straight up, notching the series at 3-3 and sending it to a Game 7 rubber match. There’s a few reasons we believe this.

The Lakers’ offense was quite one-dimensional in Game 5, with Anthony Davis (31 points, 19 rebounds, one assist) carrying much of the offensive load. For the Lakers’ offense to be effective, they need LeBron James (15 points, 10 rebounds, five assists) and D’Angelo Russell (11 points, four rebounds, 10 assists) to be more efficient with their shots. Combined, Russell and James shot just 32% from the field.

While this could be chalked up to an off night, it seems the Grizzlies may have unlocked the key to slowing down the Los Angeles offense. Adding credence to the Grizzlies’ chances as an underdog is the fact that Desmond Bane and Ja Morant are playing like men on fire.

Bane has dropped 30+ points in two consecutive games (36 & 33), while Morant has had 30 or more in two of his last three (45, 19 & 31). If the Grizzlies keep the pressure on Los Angeles offensively and continue to force them to rely on interior scoring, they will have a good chance to upset the Lakers and move on to the next round.

Grizzlies vs. Lakers Best Bets & Picks for Game 6 Including Desmond Bane’s Total Points Prop

Another one of our top Grizzlies vs. Lakers predictions is for Grizzlies shooting guard Desmond Bane to continue his hot streak and surpass his total points prop, currently set at 25.5 (over +100) at DraftKings Sportsbook.

As we mentioned above, Bane has scored 30 or more points in each of his last two games, carrying a shooting percentage of exactly 50% in those matchups.

Bane is a key cog in the Grizzlies’ offensive machine and they will likely look to maximize his shot attempts in Game 6. Look for Bane to continue to ride his hot streak and cash on the (+100) odds for him to score at least 26 points.
