Lakers News: LeBron James, Stephen Curry Have Been Discussing Team-Up For Months

Will LeBron and Steph Curry join forces?

NBA superstars LeBron James and Stephen Curry have been planning to team-up for months now, with Steve Kerr coaching the duo.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst teased this upcoming pairing during a recent episode of NBA Today.

"LeBron and Steph have been thinking about playing together for months, and that they want to play together for Steve Kerr," Windhorst shared.

Have no fear though Lakers fans, James is not planning to join the Golden State Warriors anytime soon. Rather, Windhorst teased fans before clarifying that James and Curry are getting ready to compete for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

James and Curry are just two of a flurry of NBA players thinking about competing for Team USA in Paris. Other players who have expressed interest in playing for Team USA include Draymond Green, Anthony Davis, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, and Kevin Durant among others. A lot of star players became interested in returning to Team USA after the U.S. finished a disappointing fourth at the FIBA World Cup in 2023.

Beyond the players, Steve Kerr will return to coaching Team USA for Paris. However, Kerr has stated that this will be his final time coaching the national group.

With the best of the U.S. players returning to the Olympics, Team USA should rebound. Team USA has absolutely dominated in basketball at the Olympic Games, having won 16 Olympic gold medals total. Team USA has won gold at each of the last four Olympic Games. James has previously won two gold medals and a bronze with Team USA at the Olympic Games, while Curry has yet to compete at an Olympic Games.
