Lakers News: Hawks Fans Taunt D’Angelo Russell Amid Trade Rumors, ‘We Don’t Want You’

Hawks fans came out swinging today.

As your Los Angeles Lakers trail the Atlanta Hawks 73-56 in the third quarter (Atlanta has opened up the frame on a 6-0 run) of their clash tonight, plenty is going wrong for LA.

Amidst their overall poor performance (especially defensively), however, they're also playing in one of the most hostile arenas we've seen all year, evident by this:

D'Angelo Russell, while at the free throw line, was met with a "we don't want you" chant from Hawks fans, referring to the potential trade rumors involving him being sent there in a package for Dejounte Murray.

This is one of the more interesting chants I've heard, as it's not in the fans' control whether they acquire Russell or not.

Unfortunately, however, he has responded poorly to the taunts, sitting at just 1-of-7 on the day with four points – his worst game in the month of January.

This, ironically, actually makes a deal likelier, as after such a poor performance when asked to do more (as Anthony Davis is out), LA could begin to revisit their old opinion of Russell, which wasn't great and first led to him being put into rumors.
