Leaked Footage Shows Russell Westbrook Trash-Talking Lakers Superstar in Practice
Kobe Bryant was able to face off against some of the best superstars this league has ever seen during his 20 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. He had some classic battles with the likes of Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Tracy McGrady and Paul Pierce just to name a few.
The Black Mamba prided himself on being the hardest worker no matter who he was surrounded by. Basketball fans got to see just how far he went with this in the 2008 olympics thanks to Netflix dropping their Redeem Team documentary last year.
However, Bryant always wanted to pass on his work ethic and knowledge to rising stars that he believed could tap into a similar realm as him. Russell Westbrook was one player that never backed down from the five-time champion and Bryant coined him as the most athletic player he ever matched up against.
Westbrook has been known for his competitive edge all throughout his career and even though he didn't last too long with the Lakers, he made sure to play his heart out and had some great moments with the squad.
However, a recent video leaked from a Team USA practice where Bryant was guarding the ultra-athletic guard and the two actually started chirping at each other.
Have a listen for yourself! A young Westbrook was certainly feeling himself after two straight possessions that resulted in buckets.
This type of dialogue happens all the time in the NBA and it is nothing that should be frowned upon. Bryant was a notorious trash-talker himself and Westbrook decide to return the favor after a jumper over him when he said 'You can't do nothing about that one'.
Hopefully we get more high-quality clips like this so we can see and hear Bryant competing with a number of stars on Team USA!
