Injury Report: Brooklyn Nets vs. Boston Celtics

The injury reports for the Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics have been revealed ahead of their Wednesday night matchup.

The Brooklyn Nets were hopeful to have two of their key rotation players available for Wednesday night's game against the Boston Celtics. Instead, both players will remain in street clothes supporting their teammates from the bench.

Brooklyn has ruled out Ben Simmons (left knee soreness) and T.J. Warren (left shin contusion) out vs. the Celtics. The status report update comes a day after Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn expressed optimism both players would be available for Wednesday.

Before Monday night's win over the star-less Los Angeles Lakers at Barclays Center, Vaughn stated that both Simmons and Warren were ruled out due to precaution.

“Yeah, just hopefully they’re ready for Wednesday," head coach Jacque Vaughn said pregame on Monday evening. "Both not going tonight so both showing signs of progress which is good. Hopeful for Wednesday.”

The injury absence will mark the third straight game both Simmons and Warren will miss due to their respective injuries. Brooklyn's superstar forward Kevin Durant (MCL sprain) is not expected to take the trip to TD Garden. He will likely remain in the borough to focus on his rehab.

Outside the two key rotation players, Brooklyn has assigned two-way guard David Duke Jr., second-year wing Kessler Edwards, and two-way guard Dru Smith to their NBA G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets.

For the Celtics, the Eastern Conference contender will also have the possibility of missing two of their key rotation players. Boston has already ruled veteran guard Marcus Smart (right ankle sprain) out vs. the Nets. The team has listed big Robert Williams (left ankle sprain) as questionable for the Wednesday night matchup.

Identical to Brooklyn, Boston has assigned players to their NBA G League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws: JD Davidson (G League - Two-Way) and Mfidondu Kabengele (G League Two-Way). The Celtics will also remain without veteran wing Danillo Galinari (left knee, ACL Repair).
