Lakers Seriously Interested in Key Nuggets Player

In a report from Mike Singer of the Denver Post, it was revealed that the Los Angeles Lakers have strong interest in acquiring Denver Nuggets guard Bruce Brown. As Singer noted, the Lakers can have access to the full mid-level exception, whereas the Nuggets can only gain access to part of it:
This move would make a lot of sense for the Lakers, as they need more playoff friendly rotation pieces. Making it to the Western Conference Finals was a great accomplishment or LA last season, but this is a franchise that has their sights set on championships. Acquiring a player like Brown, while simultaneously keeping him from the Nuggets, would be a huge win for the Lakers.
While Brown and the Nuggets have loved their partnership and would have interest I'm continuing it, Denver is limited in what they can offer the versatile guard. Having yet to cash in on a big pay day, Brown absolutely deserves to do what is best for him and his career.
Not heavily pursued last summer, Brown proved his worth this past season, and especially in the playoffs. There are several teams around the league who would love to sign him, and the Lakers are reportedly one of those teams. It's unclear if Brown would have mutual interest in going to LA, but it makes sense why the Lakers would be after him.
