The Denver Nuggets fell to the Houston Rockets on Friday night in a frustrating game that saw Jamal Murray get ejected. Houston has given Denver some trouble this year, and took care of the defending champions again in this game.
Prior to the game beginning, Rockets forward Dillon Brooks was doing his viral pregame ritual where he stands and stares towards the opposing team. It's something Brooks has been filmed doing on several occasions, and this time a viral video caught Murray going up to him and standing by him:
It seemed as if Brooks was close to cracking a smile, but maintained his focus. This was a hilarious moment that has been going viral on social media, because it is definitely not something that happens often at an NBA basketball game.
Brooks embraces the villain role, and has been doing so since his time with the Memphis Grizzlies. This pregame ritual very much plays into that villain persona, as Brooks clearly is unbothered by those who question this very unique routine.
While the Rockets do not look like contenders, they do look much more competitive on a nightly basis than they have the last several seasons. Brooks certainly deserves some credit for this, as his arrival via a sign and trade has helped bring a new level of intensity to a Rockets team that needed it.
