The Denver Nuggets are facing the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night, and Nikola Jokic has been listed as probable on the injury report. Jokic played in Denver’s last game, which was a win over the Memphis Grizzlies, but he did miss their game before that, which was a win over the Portland Trail Blazers.
Jokic has been dealing with low back pain and left hip inflammation, which has had him on the injury report quite a bit recently. That said, Jokic has missed just one game with these issues, which was that win over Portland. Jokic has missed just three games all season, as he has played in 69 of Denver’s 72 contests.
Jokic’s availability has been a big reason why the Nuggets have been so successful this season, and one of the biggest reasons they have been so successful over the last several seasons. The Nuggets have won four-straight games, and sit atop the Western Conference standings entering Wednesday night’s matchup with the Suns. With just a half-game lead over the second seed Oklahoma City Thunder, the Nuggets need to continue winning games in order to hold onto the top spot in the Western Conference.
The Suns have a very difficult schedule between now and the end of the season, but they still have hope of climbing out of the play-in tournament, as they sit just one game back of the 6th seed Dallas Mavericks.
