Pelicans Sends Former First-Round Pick To G League Assignment

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Pelicans have assigned guard Kira Lewis Jr. to their NBA G League affiliate team, the Birmingham Squadron.
Lewis Jr., who stands at 6'2" and weighs 175 pounds, has played in 13 games for the Pelicans this season, averaging 3.1 points, 1.4 assists, and 0.8 rebounds in 10.1 minutes per game.

New Orleans drafted him out of Alabama with the 13th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft. He has 116 game appearances, averaging 5.5 points, 1.8 assists, and 1.3 rebounds with the Pelicans.
Lewis Jr. will be available for tomorrow night's game against the Osceola Magic.
