Report: Pelicans Signing Malcolm Hill To Two-Way Contract
New Orleans, LA - ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Wednesday that the New Orleans Pelicans are signing Malcolm Hill to a two-way contract. Hill has spent time with the team's G League affiliate, Birmingham Squadrons, for most of the season. The 6-foot-6 former University of Illinois standout averaged 22 points per game for the Squadrons, including scoring a franchise-record 44 points in January. Hill shot over 40% from the three-point line. The team has yet to make an official announcement.
Hill went undrafted in 2017 and bounced around in Europe before returning to the States and signing with the Pelicans in 2021. After being released, he signed with the Atlanta Hawks, appearing in three games that season. He's appeared in 24 total NBA games.
New Orleans had an open two-way roster spot after converting Jeremiah Robinson-Earl's two-way contract into a standard one earlier this month. The Pelicans' active roster remains at 14, with one more available spot left. New Orleans opens their post All-Star campaign on Thursday, hosting the Houston Rockets.
