Shaq Sends Apology to Suns SG Devin Booker

Shaquille O’Neal shows his respect to Devin Booker after his incredible Game 4 performance.

The whole world is beginning to notice the excellent play of Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker.

Through the Suns' playoff run so far, Devin Booker has been the star of the show averaging 36.8 points, 7.4 assists and 5.1 rebounds. Booker’s 47 point explosion in Game 3 and 36 point performance in Game 4 against the Denver Nuggets has helped the Suns even up the series after being down 2-0.

Even four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal is giving props to Booker.

"Devin Booker: I'm sorry, I owe you an apology,” O’Neal said during NBA on TNT after Game 4. “I got on TV and said you would not go 20-for-25 again, you messed around and went 14-for-18. So sir, I apologize. Love the way you're playing and again: Now we have a series."

Booker’s efficiency during the postseason has been off the charts. He is shooting 61.7% FG through the entirety of the playoffs and shot over 70% in both Games 3 and 4 against Denver.

With Phoenix’s season basically on the line over the previous two games, Booker responded with nothing more than perfection.

It's been a rocky road over these past couple of weeks for the Suns with some inconsistent play and injuries, but Booker continues to play at a consistently great level.

Booker’s offensive surge is not only impressive but also historic. The most points scored in a single playoff run was 759 by Michael Jordan in 1992. Booker is already at 331 points during the playoffs and we're not even past the second round. Realistically, he has a legitimate shot of breaking Jordan’s record if the Suns were to go on a deep run.

The Suns are set to play Game 5 in Denver on Tuesday night. Phoenix failed to win a game in Denver, so it's critical that Booker is at the top of his game moving forward.

One thing is clear though: If Booker continues on this path, the Suns not only have a good shot of defeating the Nuggets - but could very well ride Booker’s outstanding play all the way into the NBA Finals.
