Injury Report, Updated Odds (2/23): Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Washington Wizards
The Oklahoma City Thunder made a statement fresh out of the All-Star break. They defeated the LA Clippers 129-107 in an electrifying performance. They made a statement as they're still fighting for the top spot in the Western Conference.
Now, the Thunder has a chance to build their win streak as they host the Washington Wizards on the second night of a back-to-back. With a 9-46 record, the Wizards aren't exactly coming out of the break looking to find their way into any playoff positioning. They're in the middle of a rebuild, and winning isn't their core focus right now.
For the Thunder, playoff positioning is on the line. A win would put them on a four-game win streak and tie them with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the win column.
Injury Report
Thunder:
Ousmane Dieng, OUT (G League)
Adam Flagler, OUT (G League)
Keyontae Johnson, Questionable (G League)
Olivier Sarr, Questionable (G League)
Lindy Waters III, Questionable (G League)
Wizards:
Jules Bernard, OUT (G League)
Isaiah Livers, OUT (Hip)
There's just one injury on the report for either team that is a real injury. For the most part, there are just G League assignments. This game won't be impacted by injuries, but it doesn't quite matter for either side. Evidently, the Thunder should be able to win this game, even if they were dealing with some key absences.
Updated Odds
It's no surprise whatsoever that the Thunder is a steep 16.5-point favorite. That's a heavy line, but the Wizards are 6-23 on the road and 9-46 on the season. Again, winning is not their core focus right now.
A month and a half ago, when the two teams matched up for the first time, the Thunder won by just eight points. It's hard to pick a team to win by so much, especially on the second night of a back-to-back, but the Thunder is a substantially better team.
