Injury Report, Updated Odds (2/25): Oklahoma City Thunder at Houston Rockets
Sunday kicks off the first of two straight games against the Houston Rockets for the Oklahoma City Thunder. It'll be the second and third games of the season for the two teams out of the four-game regular season series.
For the Thunder, they've got an opportunity to extend their four-game winning streak, which started before the All-Star break. They've hit the ground running in the back half of the NBA season and look to continue leveraging good playoff seeding.
The Rockets are having an underwhelming season with a 25-31 record and have lost three out of their last five games played.
Still, the two teams always seem to match up weirdly and this is a matchup the Thunder seems to struggle with consistently. The baseball-style series allows the Thunder to make a statement as they continue rolling through their schedule.
Injury Report
Thunder:
Ousmane Dieng, OUT (G League)
Adam Flagler, OUT (G League)
Keyontae Johnson, OUT (G League)
Rockets:
Steven Adams, OUT (G League)
Tari Eason, OUT (Leg)
Nate Hinton, OUT (G League)
Jermaine Samuels Jr., OUT (G League)
While the Rockets are missing two players to injury, they aren't game-changers that were going to exactly swing the outcome of this game. There are also five absences across both teams due to G League assignments.
Injuries aren't going to change the outcome of this matchup, and both teams will be able to give the other their best punch in this one.
Updated Odds
Despite playing in Houston, where the Rockets are 20-9 on the season, the Thunder is a 6.5-point favorite after opening up as a 4.5-point favorite. While the Thunder is playing on the road, there is no denying they've been the better team this season.
The Thunder is currently half a game behind the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, so winning this one could be huge as the Thunder continues piling momentum and stacking good games together.
