Minnesota is nearing the return of a pair of young stars as they look to continue their scorching-hot start to the season.

Speaking to KFAN's Paul Allen Monday morning, head coach Chris Finch said Anthony Edwards "should be almost ready" for the Timberwolves' game against San Antonio on Wednesday.

The star guard has missed the previous two game after sustaining a right hip pointer injury in a hard fall in the team's 106-103 win last Tuesday against the Thunder. Edwards leads the team in scoring at 26.2 points and is second with 5.0 assists per game this season.

Though he noted he doesn't have a timetable for Jaden McDaniels' return, Finch said, "it would be nice to have him" for the team's upcoming road trip.

After Wednesday night's home game against the Spurs, the Timberwolves will embark on a seven-day road trip where they'll play at Memphis, New Orleans and Dallas. McDaniels has been out for two weeks with a sprained ankle.
