Naz Reid out, Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert gametime decisions against Nuggets
Timberwolves center Naz Reid is out for Tuesday night's game against the Denver Nuggets, while star guard Anthony Edwards and starting center Rudy Gobert are both gametime decisions, coach Chris Finch said pregame.
Reid suffered a head injury during Monday night's win over the Utah Jazz and did not return for the second half. Finch said he doesn't expect his injury to be long-term.
Edwards suffered a dislocated and sprained middle finger on his left hand during his emphatic dunk over John Collins on Monday night. While he got the digit popped back into place and played the rest of the game with two fingers taped together, he was listed as questionable for Tuesday's game and will be a gametime call.
Gobert, meanwhile, has been dealing with a left rib sprain and has missed the Wolves' last two games. He was also listed as questionable ahead of Tuesday's game and will also be a gametime decision.
Minnesota is also still without All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns, who is recovering from a torn meniscus in his left knee and isn't expected back until, at the earliest, the playoffs. He underwent surgery and will be evaluated four weeks later.
Edwards is known for toughing out injuries so it won't be a surprise if he starts in what is a big game among two of the top-three seeds in the Western Conference. The Wolves and Nuggets are both 47-21, just a half-game behind Oklahoma City (47-20) for the No. 1 seed in the West.
OKC is off until Wednesday when they host the Jazz.
Tipoff for Tuesday's game is set for 8:10 p.m. inside the Target Center.
