Trail Blazers Injury Report: 2 Portland Players Downgraded Ahead Of Wizards Tank-Off
At this point in the year, the 20-56 Portland Trail Blazers, who've won just one of their last ten contests, and the 15-62 Washington Wizards, who've gone a slightly more robust 4-6 in the same span, are battling for some lottery luck. They'll be duking it out tonight in Capital One Arena, for what figures to be a severe tank-off. The action is set to tip off at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET.
Per Sean Highkin of The Rose Garden Report, the team's highest-scoring healthy player (Anfernee Simons has already been ruled out), Jerami Grant, has been downgraded to doubtful as a result of a strained right hamstring. Highkin adds that Ibou Badji has been downgraded, too. He's considered questionable to play due to a sore lower back.
According to a recent NBA injury report, Justin Minaya, meanwhile, has been upgraded to play through his rightilium contusion. A litany of Trail Blazers remain out: guards Malcolm Brogdon (right elbow tendinitis), Simons (right knee tendinitis), and Shaedon Sharpe (lower abdominal surgery); rookie forward Toumani Camara (out for the season with a left rib fracture); wing Matisse Thybulle (right ankle impingement) and center Robert Williams III (right knee ligament tear).
