Trail Blazers News: Scoot Henderson Shines In Losing Effort For Rising Stars Game
He looked good in a loss — par for the course this year.
Portland Trail Blazers rookie point guard Scoot Henderson impressed on a team full of some of the NBA’s best and brightest first- and second-year players during the Rising Stars mini-tournament competition on Friday night.
Although his club under WNBA Hall of Fame forward Tamika Catchings did not advance, Henderson proved to be a standout figure.
In playing a team-most 11:22 for Team Tamika, Henderson scored a team-high 10 points on 4-of-6 field goal shooting (1-of-2 from long range) and 1-of-1 foul shooting, while also dishing out one dime.
Team Tamika fell 40-35, in the first of two rounds, to a Jalen Rose-coached group, headlined by Indiana Pacers guard Benedict Mathurin’s game-most 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the floor.
