Warriors vs. Bulls Prediction, Player Props, Picks & Odds: Fri, 1/12

The Golden State Warriors (17-20, 12th in the Western Conference) visit Chicago tonight to battle the Bulls (18-21, 9th in the Eastern Conference). It’s safe to say the Warriors are scuffling as of late, entering tonight fresh off of an uncharacteristic 2-5 homestand, headlined by defensive woes, that has sent them three games under .500. The Bulls, meanwhile, are now completely healthy and looking to win four straight.

Below, we dive into the betting angle for tonight’s NBA showdown at 8 PM ET with our expert Warriors vs. Bulls prediction, completed by Warriors vs. Bulls player props, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook odds and lines.

Warriors vs. Bulls Predictions for Friday, 1/12

At this very moment in the 2023-24 NBA season, it’s difficult to know what to make of both the Warriors and the Bulls. Each squad sits in limbo with aging, veteran-led rosters and sub .500 records. Of course, the Warriors have the track record and the stars to turn this around, but Chris Paul (injury) and Draymond Green (suspension) are sorely missed, especially on the defensive end of the floor. Coming off of a brutal homestand, concluded by a 36-point thrashing at the hands of the New Orleans Pelicans, we can’t trust the Warriors to necessarily bounce back on the road or cover a +3-point spread against the Bulls.

That being said, we don’t necessarily trust this Bulls team as a three-point favorite, as this is unfamiliar territory for this group. The Bulls have won three straight, but two of those came against the 8-26 Charlotte Hornets, one in overtime, and the other against the Houston Rockets at home, also in overtime. To begin January, the Bulls lost back-to-back games to the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks by double digits. Granted, Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic were both out then but back now.

While the Bulls have struggled offensively all years, ranking 27/30 in points per game (109.7), this Warriors defense has ranked 29th in rating over the last seven games. With the Bulls healthy and confident and the Warriors unable to stop anybody right now, we like the Bulls to do their part on the scoreboard tonight. We expect a more focused defensive effort from the Warriors tonight, but not enough to limit the Bulls doing their part for this game total under to hit.

We also expect the Splash Brothers and Co. to keep pace with Chicago, especially considering the scoring output Moses Moody has delivered the last two games, scoring 20+ in each contest. Trust in stars like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Coby White, Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan to take this Game Total Over 227 Points (-110 at FanDuel) to follow the best bet from our official Warriors vs. Bulls prediction.

Warriors vs. Bulls Player Props & Expert Picks Featuring Steph Curry & Coby White

We are going to keep our Warriors vs. Bulls player props pretty simple.

Warriors: Steph Curry Over 27.5 Points (-102 at FanDuel)

Curry struggled mightily in the Warriors’ last two games, scoring a combined 24 points on 6-of-27 shooting (3-of-17 from deep). Even at age 35, Curry has been a dominant scorer most of the season, scoring under 20 points seven times in 35 games, including the two most recent. No Chris Paul has forced him to assume more point guard duties, but we would be foolish to think Curry could be kept down three games in a row.

After Curry’s worst game of the season, where he scored seven points against the Portland Trail Blazers on December 17, he came back against the NBA-best Boston Celtics to pour in 33. The Bulls may not be an NBA Finals contender, but playing in the iconic United Center in Chicago tends to bring the best out of the league’s stars. Expect Curry to bounce back tonight and score better than his season average (26.7). Take Curry Over 27.5 Points (-102 at FanDuel) to back the first of our Warriors vs. Bulls player props.

Bulls: Coby White Over 5.5 Assists (-104 at FanDuel)

We can’t stop writing about Coby White, and with good reason. The fifth-year player and former No. 7 overall pick is having his best season to date, scorching hot in most facets of the game since the start of December. His overall play has rejuvenated this Bulls squad, and it's the way he has affected the game in other ways than scoring that has gone a bit unnoticed.

Yes, White has been shooting the ball from deep at an exceptional clip, but he has also been a tremendous play maker, averaging six assists per game since the start of December, compared to the four assists per game he was dishing in October and November. In three of his last four games, White has cleared 5.5 assists, including eight assists twice in that stretch. Against this reeling Warriors defense, with LaVine, DeRozan and Vucevic on his side, we believe White can once again rise to the occasion and dish out 6+ assists. Tail this to complete our Warriors vs. Bulls player props.
