Draymond Green Breaks Silence on New Injury

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green spoke on his injury

It was reported on Saturday afternoon that Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green had suffered an ankle injury that projects to leave him sidelined for three to six weeks. In a new report from Marc Spears of Andscape, Green reportedly said, "I dodged a bullet and learned that today by the way it's (positively) reacting. Even with an MRI you don't see the trend of it immediately. The swelling is down."

This is good news; however, Green still expects to be sidelined for four to six weeks which will almost certainly leave him out for a stretch of games to begin the season. This is a big blow for a Warriors team that was hoping to use training camp to develop chemistry with their new-look roster that includes veteran point guard Chris Paul.

While Paul has been working out with Green and other Warriors players, there is no substitute for game action, which Green will now be missing out on to start the season. Without the margin for error they once had, this is a tough blow for the Warriors as they look to start their season the right way.

Fortunately for Green and Golden State, this injury doesn't seem to be something beyond what has been initially reported. After this four to six week period, Green should be able to rejoin his teammates without issue.
