Klay Thompson Gets Heated About Warriors' Starters Struggles
The Golden State Warriors have not been a great team this year, and neither has their starting lineup. Game after game, Steve Kerr has been asked about his patience with lineups, and now it's starting to feel like things may be getting heated.
Klay Thompson was asked by the media about the Warriors' struggles this season and Kerr's comments about staying patient with lineups, and Klay gave an intense answer.
"Do you want me to bench me," Thompson questioned. "Do you want to bench Wigs? I mean, you could suggest it, it's fine. Thanks, Steve, I guess. Sometimes you hear these things like patience and time to find yourself. I think history is on our side when it comes to that stuff."
It's understandable for Klay Thompson to be frustrated. After 17 games, the Warriors have a losing record and he's only averaging 15 points on 40/37/87 shooting. People have been doubting Thompson since he returned from injury, but his numbers have been undeniably low this season. Regardless, Klay Thompson does not care what any of his critics say.
"I don't care what people say," Thompson said. "They don't do what we do. They can't do what we do. That's why they talk. I don't care what people say at this point of my life."
The Golden State Warriors face the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday at 10:00 p.m. EST, a win there will surely change the morale and narratives surrounding the team in the short term.
