Update on Andrew Wiggins' Status vs. Thunder

The Golden State Warriors will likely not have Andrew Wiggins vs. the OKC Thunder

Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins is expected to re-join his team after an extended personal absence. It was reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic that Wiggins had been away from the Warriors due to a serious medical situation with his father.

Set to re-join the Warriors within the next day, Wiggins is expected to be present at Tuesday night's game vs. the OKC Thunder, but Charania reported that he is unlikely to play in that game.

While Wiggins has been working out individually during his absence, the Warriors still need to assess his conditioning level before they allow him to return to game action. It does seem as if the versatile forward will have an opportunity to play before the regular season ends, which will pave the way for his availability in the postseason as well.

While Wiggins is unlikely to play in Golden State's next game, it should not be much longer before he is right back in the mix. This projects to be a huge boost for a Warriors team that has certainly missed his presence on both sides of the ball.

As previously mentioned, it is unclear exactly how conditioned Wiggins is at this point, but the fact that he has been working out individually during his absence should help shorten any ramp up period before his return to game action. After Tuesday night's game vs. the Thunder, the Warriors will play just two more games, facing the Kings on Friday and the Trail Blazers on Sunday to finish out the regular season.
