Cincinnati Bengals Make Tough Decision With Brock Bowers and Johnny Newton Still Available in Latest Mock Draft
Cincinnati has the 18th overall pick. This would be a tough decision.
CINCINNATI — If the Bengals don't take an offensive lineman in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, it's probably because a top player at another position fell to them. Cincinnati has the No. 18 pick.
Mina Kimes and Nate Tice did an entire first round mock draft and two top prospects were available: Georgia tight end Brock Bowers and Illinois defensive tackle Johnny Newton.
Tice ultimately went with Bowers.
"I'm going Bowers there," Tice said. "He's a power slot. He's his own thing. He's not a receiver, he's not a tight end, he's his own thing ... The two-man game with him and (Ja'Marr) Chase would be sick."
Bowers was an All-American at Georgia. He had 175 receptions for 2,538 yards and 26 touchdowns in three seasons for the Bulldogs.
