Commanders vs. Broncos Predictions for NFL Week 2 on Sunday, 9/17

This matchup between Washington and Denver is most certainly a good one, and both of these teams still have a lot to prove as this season continues. This is a game that Denver needs to win if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive early, and Washington would love to start 2-0.

The Commanders liked what they saw from Sam Howell last week, and they hope to see him play like that all season. Howell had 202 yards through the air and one passing TD to Brian Robinson Jr. in their opener. He also showed off his legs and found the endzone himself. Howell did have an interception and was sacked six times, however, and Denver will be taking note of that as they try to get to the QB early and often.

As for the Broncos, they’ll be looking for a bigger week out of Russell Wilson and the offense. Wilson only had 177 yards passing against the Raiders, but he did throw for two TD’s in their loss. He was only scaled twice and didn’t throw an interception. Ball security has been an issue for him in the past, so if Wilson can take care of the ball, we love the Broncos' chances in this one.

Denver spread their touches out well between their backs and receivers against Vegas, and this balanced attack is a good sign for Week 2. We predict that Denver will come out much stronger this week against an average Commanders defense, and do enough to win this game by more than a field goal at home.

Broncos Injury Report Ahead of Week 2

The Broncos have some players that are a bit banged up heading into week two. WR Jerry Jeudy, OLB Frank Clark, DT D.J Jones and CB Riley Moss were all limited in practice this week, but their injuries don’t seem too serious, and they’re expected to suit up on Sunday.
