Hunt to Play vs. Titans
Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski talked to the media after practice on Friday and confirmed that newly re-signed running back Kareem Hunt will play.
Hunt looks leaner and appears that by coming in being in great shape will help him see the field on Sunday.
When asked about Hunt, Stefanski said the following:"Kareem’s going to play, he’s ready to play. He’s in good shape, I think how much and doing what will determine that over the next 48 hours. I think he’s comfortable with everything we have up."
There is definitely another level to being in football shape. Hunt wasn't in training camp so they will have to ramp him up while being careful not to cause soft tissue injury that could keep him out.
I expect the team to lean more into running inside out of the shotgun formation with Chubb now gone for the season. This is more of an ideal role for Hunt and one he thrived in Kansas City. His biggest strength that will be called on early is his ability in pass protection on third downs and passing situations.
This is an area that Jerome Ford is working on to develop and can become a liability in certain situations. Hunt will also be called on to catch passes out of the backfield and help be a security blanket for Watson to check down to.
We will see how the plan unfolds on Sunday but I would also expect to see Pierre Strong Jr. for a number of snaps as well.
