Multiple Buccaneers Defenders in Danger of Missing Divisional Matchup Against Saints

The Buccaneers have their first NFC South matchup of the year against the Saints but could find themselves shorthanded.

The Buccaneers have a crucial matchup in Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints with both teams being 2-1 and fighting to win the NFC South.

The Saints could likely be without starting QB Derek Carr, with former Bucs QB Jameis Winston in place to start for him. But the Buccaneers are also dealing with many injuries on their defense.

Carlton Davis, Jamel Dean, SirVocea Dennis, Calijah Kancey, Derrek Pitts, Vita Vea and Devin White all appeared on the Buccaneers' injury report this week. Davis was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday with all the other players being non-participants in practice.

Keep in mind the Buccaneers have a short week as they played on Monday and are traveling to New Orleans to play the Saints, so it will be hard to know who the team is being cautious with and who is not able to go on Sunday.

To begin Thursday's practice the only players not present from the list of injured players were Calijah Kancey and Vita Vea. Kancey has still not played since leaving in Week 1 against the Vikings, while Vea got injured on Monday Night against the Eagles.

Thursday's practice appeared to be a light day for the Buccaneers so many players, even those not listed on the injury report were off to the side warming up and spending time with trainers or coaches.

The Buccaneers listed Carlton Davis as a full participant in practice after being limited on Wednesday. Barring any setback he is on track to play against New Orleans on Sunday.

Devin White was upgraded to limited after not participating in practice on Wednesday, a good sign that he is headed in the right direction to play against the Saints.

Vita Vea, Derrek Pitts, Calijah Kancey, SirVocea Dennis, and Jamel Dean all did not participate in practice on Wednesday or Thursday. The Bucs' final practice on Friday will give us more insight into which of these players are going to miss the game.
