Chargers Land Explosive WR to Replace Keenan Allen in New Mock Draft

Bolts land the 2023 Biletnikoff Award Winner with their first pick.

The Los Angeles Chargers have many options when it comes to their fifth overall pick in April's draft. They could trade the pick, or they could draft a game-changer who could change the trajectory of their franchise for the better.

While many pundits and experts believe they will trade back, CBS Sports' latest mock draft has them keeping the pick. Two-time Super Bowl champion Bryant McFadden has the Bolts selecting the 2023 Biletnikoff Award Winner, Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

"Jim Harbaugh said that having the No. 5 pick is basically like picking first for a team who doesn't need a QB, and that's how it shakes out in this mock draft. The Chargers, after unloading Keenan Allen and Mike Williams this offseason, get one of the best WR prospects in recent memory in Marvin Harrison Jr."

In his junior year at Columbus, Harrison Jr. collected 67 receptions for 1211 yards, 15 touchdowns and 18.1 yards per reception. He is arguably the best player in this draft and maybe the best wide receiver prospect in a very long time. The Chargers don't currently have a solid number-one pass catcher on the roster. Drafting Harrison Jr. would change that instantly.

He possesses elite athletic skills, can break one or two tackles, and has super soft hands and an innate knack for coming down with acrobatic catches consistently.

Harrison Jr. stands at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, and would immediately become Justin Herbert's favorite target. It would be very uncharacteristic of Jim Harbaugh and general manager Joe Hortiz to choose a wide receiver, but desperate times may call for desperate measures.
