Chargers News: LA Drafts Stud Wideout In Fresh Mock

The Los Angeles Chargers hold the fifth overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, giving them a great opportunity to land a game-changing prospect. After the team finished with a frustrating 5-12 record last season, the Bolts front office decided it was time to make a change.

The team brought in a new head coach and general manager, giving them an entirely new identity. Jim Harbaugh takes over the team and has started to build the roster around his system. Harbaugh loves to run the ball and build along the trenches on both sides of the ball.

The team has been expected to select an offensive lineman with the fifth overall pick, but their wide receiver room is also lacking. In one of the latest mock drafts from NFL.com, writer Lance Zierlein has the Bolts taking one of the best receivers to enter the league in a long time, Marvin Harrison Jr. from Ohio State.

"If the first four picks are not spent on quarterbacks, this could be a trade-out spot for the Chargers. But if the draft plays out like it did in this exercise, Los Angeles' decision could come down to an offensive tackle vs. one of the top three receivers. Harbaugh saw this Ohio State star up close during his Michigan tenure and trusts his eyes here."

Harrison Jr. would be a massive addition to the Chargers offensive attack. His ability to catch the ball in space and rack up yards would allow the Bolts to spread the ball all around the field. Pairing him with first-round pick from last season, Quentin Johnston would give the Bolts a nice, young duo to work with.

Chargers' quarterback Justin Herbert would love to throw the ball to this explosive duo, with Harrison Jr. giving him a true No. 1 wide receiver. After losing Keenan Allen and Mike Williams this offseason, the Bolts have a lot of work to do at the position.
