Chargers Load Up on Offensive Talent in Fourth Round of New Mock Draft

The Los Angeles Chargers hold nine picks in the upcoming 2024 NFL draft. Whether that number increases or decreases come draft day is a different story, but currently, LA will try to hit on all their draft picks.

After the first round, anything can happen. In CBS Sports' Chris Trapasso mocks the entire draft in a fresh piece. In the fourth round, Trapasso has the Bolts selecting two pass catchers with the 105th and 110th overall picks in the NFL draft: North Carolina wide receiver Devontez Walker and Ohio State tight end Cade Stover.

In this mock draft, Trapasso has the Bolts trading their current first round pick, the No. 5 selection, with the Minnesota Vikings, and subsequently selecting offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga with the 11th overall pick and Adonai Mitchell from Texas with the 23rd overall pick.

The Bolts desperately need a pass catcher, and these two selections would help. Walker is coming off a not-so-great season with the Tar Heels. He recorded 41 receptions for 699 yards, seven touchdowns, and an average of 17 yards per reception.

Nonetheless, Walker is a natural playmaker, is dangerous on the catch-and-run, and has a tall frame and long arms. The 22-year-old stands at 6-foot-2 and weighs 200 pounds.

As for Stover, he is a senior tight end who enjoyed his best college season in 2023. He collected 41 receptions for 576 yards, five touchdowns, and an average of 14 yards per reception. The tight end is agile, can hurdle defenders in space, and is a reliable catcher with soft hands who's physical after the catch.

NFL.com has him with a. 6.26 prospect grade, projecting him to be an average starter in the league.

Every pick will be vital for Los Angeles, especially the offensive picks, considering they are so thin regarding their pass catchers.
