Chargers News: Mike Williams To Undergo Imaging After Scary Midgame Injury

Uh oh.

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams incurred an apparent knee injury during the third quarter of LA's 28-24 victory over the 0-3 Minnesota Vikings today.

Unfortunately, following locker room examination, Los Angeles still seems to be committed to sussing out the exact nature of the ailment -- or perhaps the club is just doing its due diligence.

According to Doric Sam of Bleacher Report, the 6'4" wideout will undergo an MRI on the ligament tomorrow morning on Monday so that the Bolts can know the ailment's exact severity.

Prior to the injury, he had recorded seven catches for a total of 121 yards, including his first touchdown of the young 2023 season, a 49-yard special via another wide receiver, Keenan Allen.

The 28-year-old Clemson standout has been a critical component of LA's offensive attack since being selected with the seventh pick in the 2017 NFL draft, and missing him for any extended period would greatly, adversely impact a turnaround for the Chargers, who are looking to rebound from their shaky 1-2 start to the year.

Our fingers are crossed that his imaging results yield only a minor ailment, and that he can return to the field posthaste.
