Chargers News: Why Bill Simmons Is Concerned About Bolts' Postseason Chances
Following a second straight bummer of a loss Sunday, this time a 27-24 overtime defeat at the hands of a washed up Ryan Tannehill and his lowly Tennessee Titans, your Los Angeles Chargers have dropped to a miserable 0-2 start in what many thought could have proven to be a breakout season.
To be fair, it's early yet, and many clubs have scrounged their way back from much more astronomic deficits. But the first step is putting a win on the board. Their next bout is against the similarly 0-2 Minnesota Timberwolves this coming Sunday. One thing's for sure: one winless team will finally, mercifully, finally notch a victory.
In a new edition of his show The Bill Simmons Podcast, The Ringer's Bill Simmons spoke with colleague "Cousin" Sal Iacono about why he is more pessimistic about the Bolts' postseason chances than he is about the playoff odds of another frustrating early-season club, the 1-1 Jacksonville Jaguars.
"I'm probably more concerned about the Chargers than Jacksonville if I'm just talking playoff potential," Simmons revealed. "'Cause I think with Jacksonville, [they're in an] easier division, they have their left tackle coming back. Chargers, this has just been who they've been this whole time.... they're this talented, frustrating team that is destined to be like this."
