Chargers News: Keenan Allen Offers Latest Reminder He's Not A Bolt Anymore
The Los Angeles Chargers shocked the football world when they traded away their former Pro Bowl wide receiver, Keenan Allen, to the Chicago Bears in mid-March. As we approach a month, it still feels unreal to many die-hard Charge fans and many NFL fans.
The reality is that he will no longer don the powder blue, and he let the fans know in this last viral video of a fan hooking up Allen with a Bears ball marker and Allen saying, "Go Bears!"
The 31-year-old has gone from Los Angeles to Chicago and will try to guide Chicago to new heights.
The Chargers traded Allen in exchange for a fourth-round pick in 2024. Charger fans were not fans of the move, and the team received a backlash for trading away such a decorated player with the franchise. However, the team had no other choice regarding their salary space situation. In addition, details had emerged about Allen and his camp turning down a two-way extension from the Bolts.
It will take many Charger fans a while to get used to Allen donning another jersey. After being drafted by the team in 2013, he was supposed to be a lifelong Charger. He will go down as an all-time great for the franchise, as he is seventh in games played, second in receptions, second in receiving yards, and third in receiving touchdowns.
If he had stayed in Los Angeles, he would have become the Charger's all-time leader in receptions. He just needed 51 receptions to surpass all-time great tight end Antonio Gates. Regardless, Allen is a Charger through and through, and Bolt fans will miss him if they don't already.
