Chargers Injury Report: Gerald Everett's Status in Doubt for Sunday Clash With Packers
Despite the Los Angeles Chargers getting healthier by the week, it appears that they will be without their star tight end once again. Gerald Everett has been dealing with an injury that has kept him sidelined all this week.
Everett initially got hurt in Week 10, as the Bolts dropped a big win against the Detroit Lions. He was labeled as questionable to return, but it was initially thought he had injured his back.
The injury was then updated this week, changing from back to chest. Whatever is happening with the Chargers TE1, is likely to keep him from suiting up in Week 11.
Gerald Everett has sat out all three practice days this week. While this is not a confirmation that he will be held out of Sunday's game, it is likely to be the case. Despite his contributions to the team when on the field, there is no need to rush him back out, making his injury that much worse.
The Chargers will just have to make do with Stone Smartt and Nick Vanett. Donald Parnham Jr. will be TE1, assuming he returns to action. Parnham is dealing with a hip injury of his own but was only limited during yesterday's practice.
The hope is that Parnham can suit up, as the Bolts would be razor-thin at the tight end position without Parnham and Everett.
Whatever injury Everett is dealing with, it's serious enough to have kept him off the field all this week. We wish for a speedy recovery, as his presence on the field is always deeply felt.
