Chargers Injury Report: LA May Be Without 3 Key Offensive Weapons Vs Packers
Ahead of an important road game that should be a must-win for the Los Angeles Chargers this weekend against the Green Bay Packers, LA may be without three of their top offensive weapons.
Earlier today, it was reported by Daniel Popper of The Athletic that Gerald Everett would miss Sunday's game with a chest injury. Following Everett's injury status, Popper reported that the Chargers wide receiving core might have taken another blow as both Keenan Allen and Jaylen Guyton are listed as questionable.
This year, the injury bug has plagued the Chargers locker room as they lost Mike Williams earlier in the season to a torn ACL and had to place Joshua Palmer on the injured reserve due to a knee injury.
As of right now, LA's depth chart currently features Quentin Johnston, Derius Davis, and Simi Fehoko on the active roster.
If they are without Allen and Guyton it could be likely LA will have to activate at least two receivers from the practice squad.
Sitting on the Chargers practice squad right now are wide receivers Terrell Bynum, Keelan Doss, and Alex Erickson.
On this list, only Doss has suited up in one game for the Chargers while Erickson suited up twice while he was with the Washington Commanders. Both saw any but little action during the time they had played as both didn't record a single catch.
If LA's receiving core does remain slim, I would expect a lot of action on the ground game from the Chargers and could see an increase of snaps for Austin Ekeler who is averaging about 15 snaps per game.
The Chargers will be lining up against a Packers team that is currently ranked 11th overall in the NFL this season, they have allowed just 18 touchdowns this season.
