Chargers News: Highly Rated DL Free Agent Training With Known Bolts Collaborator

A potential free agent choice is currently working out with a coach heavily tied to the Chargers.

The NFL league year does not start until March 13, which is only two days after NFL free agency will kick off. While there is no telling which FA will end up with which team, everyone can speculate on which players the Los Angeles Chargers will pick up.

One such player is currently DL for the New England Patriots, Jason Uche. Uche is set to become a low-cost FA that would pair well with the new regime for the Chargers.

Uche may not have the Chargers as his top landing spot for free agency, or will he? Uche has begun his offseason training with a DL coach that has ties to the organization.

Uche has begun to train with Coach Ed, who is known to train many of the defensive linemen on the Chargers like Khalil Mack. To be fair, Uche may have just been training alongside Mack and Coach Ed.

Then again, it could be that Mack might be trying to lure Uche to the defensive side of the ball for the 2024 season.

The DL for the Chargers could look vastly different after this season. Mack is the only player the teams should think about resigning, and Joey Bosa is definitely a trade chip.

Bosa has been wonderful, but he is also dealing with injuries and a campaign that could turn him into a heft cap room casualty. The Chargers will have some strong choices to make this offseason, and Uche could fill a hole should Bosa not be retained by Jim Harbaugh and Jesse Minter
