Former Los Angeles Chargers kicker Michael Badgley is returning to the Detroit Lions on a one-year contract. He spent the 2023 season with Detroit but will now rejoin them with the hope of replicating the team's success.

He only appeared in four games last season, hitting all four of his field goal attempts. The veteran went 13-15 on extra points as well.

Detroit used Badgley during their playoff run this season, appearing in all three games. He got some playoff experience to put on his resume, adding to the two playoff games he played with the Chargers in 2018.

Badgley spent multiple years with the Bolts, earning their starting kicker spot for a while. He was a member of the team from 2018-2021, earning his spot in the league.

He has since bounced around the NFL, landing with the Tennessee Titans twice, the Chicago Bears and the Washington Commanders. Badgley has been with Detroit twice now as well but is now firmly on the roster.

Badgley has appeared in 64 career games while going 98-119 in field goal attempts. He has hit 168 of 175 extra-point attempts throughout his career, showing he is a reliable kicker when active.

We wish him nothing but the best of luck in Detroit next season!
