KC Chiefs Super Bowl LVIII Bye Week Friday Injury Report

The Chiefs have issued their Friday injury report that contains updates on Joe Thuney, Chris Jones and more.

The Kansas City Chiefs capped off their week of practice on Friday, also holding local media availability for the last time before heading down to Las Vegas before Super Bowl LVIII.

With Andy Reid's team finishing the installation of its game plan and adjustments for next Sunday, the next handful of days will feature plenty of refreshers. It'll also require a decision to make on who plays in next Sunday's game. While there weren't any updates provided during media on Friday afternoon, the club's official injury report for the day gives a fresh outlook on who did and didn't participate to close out the week.

Let's dive into what's news and what's merely a continuation of the week.

Joe Thuney and Charles Omenihu miss another practice

Speaking on Thursday, Reid confirmed defensive lineman Charles Omenihu's torn ACL and said the fifth-year veteran would miss Super Bowl LVIII. The Chiefs' injury report reflects that, as he didn't practice during the week and has officially been ruled out for the game.

Elsewhere, All-Pro left guard Joe Thuney continues to rehab from a pec strain suffered late in the Divisional Round. Thuney didn't practice at all last week, continuing that trend this week. Reid said on Thursday that he was "not counted out" for the Super Bowl, though, so this doesn't necessarily spell doom for him. Thuney is listed as questionable for the biggest game of the year. Nick Allegretti will continue to prepare as if he'll start next Sunday.

Chris Jones, Isiah Pacheco and others limited

Kansas City had four players who were limited participants in practice on Friday. Defensive tackle Chris Jones (quad), running back Isiah Pacheco (toe/ankle), wide receiver Skyy Moore (knee, IR) and offensive tackle Prince Tega Wanogho (quad, IR) make up the list. For Jones and Pacheco, this appears to be an exercise of caution by the team. Neither player carries a designation as of Friday and both were limited in back-to-back days.

Moore has been a candidate to come off the injured reserve list for a while now, but he suffered a setback during the Chiefs' run through the AFC playoffs. He's been limited all week and currently carries a questionable designation. Tega Wanogho, who hasn't played since Week 3, was downgraded from full participation on Thursday to limited on Friday. He, like Moore, is questionable as the Super Bowl approaches.
