May power rankings won't win a single game in September, but it's still a positive to be seen as headed in the right direction. The Indianapolis Colts didn't make a big move in ESPN's Post-Draft NFL Power Rankings, but they moved up from No. 30 to No. 29 after the draft.

ESPN's Colts beat writer Stephen Holder thinks the position that will be most improved from the draft is quarterback.

This might seem like an audacious claim seeing how the No. 4 overall draft pick, Anthony Richardson, is still a long way from taking his first snap. But the reality is the Colts' offseason has been defined by its lack of major upgrades from last season's 4-12-1 campaign. The selection of Richardson represents the biggest investment in resources the Colts have made. For the record, kicker Matt Gay -- a 2021 Pro Bowl selection signed by the Colts in March -- should bring consistency to a position that has been unstable for Indianapolis. -- Stephen Holder, ESPN

The Colts have been getting a lot of attention for what looks to be an excellent draft on paper. Last week a pair of ESPN analysts chose the Colts as the team that will have the biggest impact from this draft class.

Their season may depend on just how quickly Richardson can improve the Colts' quarterback play. With just a 53% completion rate in his only season as a starter with the Florida Gators, expectations should be tempered early.

But there's no questioning the talent Richardson possesses including a strong arm and a Kyle Pitts-like athletic profile.

How quickly new head coach Shane Steichen can unlock Richardson will go a long way to determining where the Colts finish in the power rankings.
