Washington Commanders WATCH: Sam Howell Throws TD to Logan Thomas

The Washington Commanders have finally found the end zone.
After a horrific first half in which they built a 24-point deficit against the Chicago Bears, the Commanders are beginning to chip away in the first drive of the second half.
In a three-minute drive, the Commanders advanced the ball 75 yards on five plays and finished the possession with a 2-yard touchdown pass to tight end Logan Thomas.

Quarterback Sam Howell then ran the ball in on the two-point conversion to cut the deficit to 16.
The Commanders got inside the red zone after receiver Terry McLaurin drew a pass interference call.

It's Thomas' second touchdown of the season and first since suffering a concussion back in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos.
“We love to have Logan out there, and he's a tremendous player for us," Howell said. "But at the same time, we love all our tight ends. I think [TE] Cole [Turner] has done a good job of stepping in and filling that void of being a good pass catcher. When [TE John] Bates has been thrown the ball, he's done a good job with it. Everyone knows what he's capable of doing in the running game and pass protection, but we love all our tight ends."
The Commanders still have a ways to go in order to get back in the game, but a touchdown drive to start the half is a step in the right direction.
The Commanders trail 27-11 midway through the third quarter.
