Based on 2022-23 results, this is the third-hardest schedule entering this season. An inner-division matchup on the road in primetime against a playoff team is certainly one way to kick off an endless carousel of quality opponents. Having to face every NFC East team twice is already hard enough but throw in four matchups against a heavy AFC East division, plus playoff hopefuls in the 49ers, Seahawks and Lions, and you start to process just how rigorous this schedule truly is.
If there is any team that can survive this schedule, it's the Cowboys. In fact, this roster is equipped to do more than survive when healthy and playing their best football. The departures of Ezekiel Elliott and Dalton Schultz are significant, but the rest of this quality core, and pretty much the entire defense (fifth in fewest points allowed in 2022), remains and is now bolstered by additions such as wide receiver Brandin Cooks, defensive back Stephon Gilmore, rookie running back Deuce Vaughn and more.

Cowboys Win Total & Win-Loss Record Predictions for 2023-24
The Cowboys’ offense is led by quarterback Dak Prescott, running back Tony Pollard, receiver CeeDee Lamb and a steady offensive line. Kellen Moore is no longer the offensive coordinator, which means head coach Mike McCarthy now calls the plays. While Moore brought a unique scheme to this offense that netted the sixth-most yards per game a year ago, the talent here is still overwhelming and we don’t anticipate a dip in production with the depth and quality of weapons in this unit.
The defense is still schemed by one of the best in the business in Dan Quinn, and led by a tenacious outside linebacker, former Defensive Rookie of the Year and current favorite for 2023-24 Defensive Player of the Year, Micah Parsons. Parsons' efforts are complemented by the ball-hawking defensive back Trevon Diggs in the secondary.
This roster is as well-rounded as any in the NFL entering this season, which understandably makes the Cowboys one of the favorites to win the NFC.
