Cowboys Predictions, Picks & Best Bets for the 2023 Season After the NFL Schedule Released

With the Dallas Cowboys’ opponents already known, our futures market best bet is for the Cowboys Over 9.5 wins (-150 at FanDuel). The Cowboys won 12 games last season, and not much has changed.

The offense will see the departure of long-time bell-cow Ezekiel Elliot, though the running back position may be improved with a larger role given to Tony Pollard. The offense also added veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who will serve as an excellent second target and hopefully prevent the double-teaming of explosive pass-catcher CeeDee Lamb.

On defense, the Cowboys are returning essentially the same unit, including Defensive Player of the Year contenders Micah Parsons, Trevon Diggs and Demarcus Lawrence. The unit notably added some talent during the 2023 NFL Draft, particularly Michigan lineman Mazi Smith.

The Cowboys enter the season with the sixth-shortest odds to win the Super Bowl, behind only Kansas City, Philadelphia, Buffalo, San Francisco and Cincinnati. Unfortunately for Dallas, they’ll have to play several of these teams: Philadelphia twice (once home and once away) and both Buffalo and San Francisco on the road. While these are likely to be tough matchups, they’re also likely to be the only games Dallas is a betting underdog in if they perform up to expectations.

As long as the Cowboys don’t fall apart, it’s hard to imagine them winning fewer than 10 games. Considering last season’s 12-win showing was considered a disappointment among Cowboy faithful, we can optimistically project another double-digit win season for the Dallas Cowboys.
